Authorities have found a massive underground drug smuggling tunnel snaking through the U.S.-Mexican border, and law officers are marveling over its sophistication.

“This is one of the most elaborate tunnels I’ve seen,” Border Patrol agent Michael Scioli said.
Border Patrol agents found the uncompleted tunnel last week, the patrol said in a statement.
Measuring 48 feet in the United States and 35 feet in Mexico, the tunnel contains side walls framed with 2-by-4 wooden studs and ceiling construction.
“It’s elegant in the sense it has electrical work wired into the Mexico side. It even has a hose for ventilation and lightning,” Scioli said.
The development points to successes law officers are having in uncovering the tunnels, with an additional 16 tunnels found since October 1. But it also underscores the skills and savvy of the drug smuggling industry.
A resident tipped off the patrol about construction activity through the wall of a building in Nogales, Arizona. Agents arrested two people cutting a hole.
the war on drugs has failed how many billions of dollors are we going to spend on a war that cant be won we shouold invest in the future in america like schools collages educate the people and drugs wont be a problem hell denmark is closing prisions the dont have enough criminals drugs are legal as the USA has more people im prision than any other counter so much for freedom
Thats why we need better supervision on the border and people just need to get passports instead of just coming over here and also drugs need to be uncontrol with the police….
Thats what Im talking about Allen..
Government spends our money like it’s toilet paper and just flush it on crap!!!!
When will people wake the f**k up!!
Well, why not, open all borders, let everybody who wants to come in just waltz on in & let’s be less strict on those who blatently defy and/or break the laws that are “Meant” to help/protect us, sure, this country will become the world’s “Trailer Park Trash”, but at least we’ll be popular with people who cant speak our language and want to cause chaos, mayhem & killing, very kool idea man !!!
Allen Haynes is right. America needs to ease up in the drug policies
Another one? It seems every year they run a story about a smuggling tunnel between the US and Mexico. I heard there was even one tunnel you could drive a semi through. Hell, there was even a tunnel between the US and Canada.
Have we learned nothing from alcohol prohibition? Now we are repeating the history of 1930’s Chicago in Mexico with uncontrolled gang warfare.
The war on (some) drugs (and plants) IS lost. This implies that stoned people have won.
Lucy Lynn says people should have to get passports, ha. If the immigration authorities would only do there job we wouldn’t have the issues we have with all the illegals. I live in southern Louisiana and if they were really concerned they could haul the illegals out of this area by the busload.
Me (Ex-Millitary) and my ancestors fought for this country, to get it in good shape & try to keep it there, sure it’s not perfect, and millions of lives have been lost just to get it to this level of semi-good, so why do I want to let anybody come here who can’t take care of thier own country, if it’s so much hell there, do something, don’t say “Oh well, I’ll just go to country ‘X’ and make it a crap-hole, if you don’t have even the respect to learn enough of the kindergarten level language to get around in less than 6 months. then you really don’t need to be here !!!, No, I’m not racist, when I go on vacations & business trips I have at least two translation ditionaries with me so people don’t have to speak my language when I’m in thier counrty.
It’s worth every penny we have to interupt their illegal activities.
I agree with Jeremy H. Listen i don’t have an issue with people that come over here and try to speak our language because i know i have tried to speak the language of other countries. I mean if they give it a shot and put some effort into it than good for them. The issue that arises time and time again are language barriers leading to jobless families and poor neighborhoods….typically leading to drug use and or any other way they can make money, being violence. I’m sure anybody could go on and on with this but that point is; sure i don’t want to see my fellow Americans in a fight with other countries or vise verse but WE ARE and we need to put forth full effort to back our soldiers up. One way to do that is to make sure this country stays a float and grant those strict border laws that can bring us back up to a normal working economy and keep us away from big time drug lords…..a stretch? maybe… but i think its just one big vicious cycle.
Drug smuggling tunnels are not keeping the dope from being cut by the time it hits my hand in exchange for cold hard cash. So who the fuck cares
