Okay it is not the average Americans that are saying these things about the Canadian Health Care System. Actually it is the insurance companies who are behind all of this. There will be more badging of the Canadian Healthcare System until the reform issue is dropped in the United States.

Don’t believe the l\scare stories and lies about Canadian health care, America!

My mother (in rural Manitoba) was diagnosed with colon cancer a few years ago; she waited all of ONE WEEK for surgery (and it only took that long because she’s in her seventies and they had to do some tests to make sure she was up to the ordeal of surgery under a general anesthetic…) She’s still with us, and healthy as a horse.

Yes, there are sometimes long wait times for some (mostly elective) procedures in Canada; the system here is far from perfect. But at least here your place on the wait list is determined by how badly you need treatment, not by the contents of your bank account. My own experience, and that of family and friends, is that Canada’s health system is fast, efficient effective and affordable.

I have lived in Kingston Ontario almost all of my life. I have been the hospital mentioned in the article on numerous occasions. In the emergency room, the are very prompt, kind and attentive. Even when I have scheduled appointments, there are no long waits.

I am getting sick and tired Americans saying that the Canadian system doesn’t work. It works great. If I hurt myself or get sick, I have no hesitation in going to the hospital. The wait times are LOW and the quality of the care is EXCELLENT.
